Atmospheric turbulence causes most weather-related aircraft incidents… Here we show using climate model simulations that clear-air turbulence changes significantly within the transatlantic flight corridor when the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is doubled. At cruise altitudes within 50\u201375\u00b0?N and 10\u201360\u00b0?W in winter, most clear-air turbulence measures show a 10\u201340%\u00a0increase in the median strength of turbulence and a 40\u2013170%\u00a0increase in the frequency of occurrence of moderate-or-greater turbulence. Our results suggest that climate change will lead to bumpier transatlantic flights by the middle of this century.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Succede nell\u2019area di Swansea, in Galles. Al 5 aprile scorso erano circa 600 i nuovi casi di morbillo segnalati. I medici della zona dichiarano di aspettarsi circa 20 nuovi casi al giorno ma, sorpresa sorpresa, la percentuale di infezioni nei bambini fra gli 8 e i 16 anni \u00e8 molto bassa, mentre per quelli sotto gli 8 anni \u00e8 altissima. Mistero? Assolutamente no. Fra i bambini sotto gli 8 anni in quella zona c\u2019\u00e8 infatti un \u2018altissima percentuale di non vaccinati (per il vaccino trivalente, morbillo-parotite-rosolia). E perch\u00e9? Perch\u00e9, specialmente nel Regno Unito ma no solo, da circa un decennio esiste un forte movimento anti-vaccinista innescato dallo\u00a0studio truffaldino di Andrew Wakefield<\/strong><\/a>, ex-medico inglese che ha insinuato che quel vaccino potesse causare l\u2019autismo.<\/em><\/p>\n
