Per\u00f2 \u00e8 sotto licence CC-BY-<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kuro5hin.org\/story\/2005\/9\/11\/16331\/0655\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NC<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(solo usi non commerciali) restrittiva e non utilizzabile dai ricercatori finanziati da molti enti europei che partecipano all&#8217;Open <a href=\"http:\/\/www.budapestopenaccessinitiative.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Access Initiative di Budapest<\/a>.<br \/>\nIn una <a href=\"https:\/\/thewinnower.com\/papers\/open-letter-to-the-american-association-for-the-advancement-of-science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lettera aperta<\/a>\u00a0ricercatori e soci chiedono all&#8217;AAAS di modificare i termini di pubblicazione. E anche di spiegare i sovrapprezzi di 1.000 dollari per quel copyright, pi\u00f9 1.500 se il testo supera le 10 pagine. Prezzo di base: 2.300-2.700 dollari.<br \/>\nLa raccolta delle firme prosegue, per firmare bisogna cliccare su &#8220;Review it&#8221;.\u00a0Se ne discute da\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/theconversation.com\/top-scientific-publisher-chooses-not-to-advance-open-access-31248\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Conversation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">***<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Pages 2k project\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.ucsusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/PAGES2k_MBH991.png\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nature.com\/ngeo\/journal\/v6\/n5\/full\/ngeo1797.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fonte PAGES 2k\/<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pik-potsdam.de\/~stefan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stefan Rahmstorf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A proposito del <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ucsusa.org\/assets\/documents\/center-for-science-and-democracy\/legal-20623990v1-2014-09-03-brief-of-appellee-michael-mann.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">documento<\/a> presentato dagli avvocati di Michael Mann, Union of Concerned Scientists-USA <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.ucsusa.org\/michael-mann-responds-to-misleading-filings-in-climate-change-lawsuit-641\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0<strong>interviene <\/strong><\/a>sul processo contro la National Review, il CEI e il giornalista che lo hanno paragonato a un pedofilo e ripetutamente accusato di falsificare i dati della mazza da hockey (una fissa di molti, per es. del climastrologo Nicola Scafetta secondo il quale la peste nera \u00e8 stata causata dal clima dovuto &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.climatemonitor.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Scafetta_EE_2013-.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">alla congiunzione di Giove e Saturno&#8230; nel segno zodiacale dell&#8217;Acquario<\/a>&#8220;).<br \/>\nAaron Herstas era a un&#8217;udienza:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>I attended a hearing related to this case last June. It was disturbing to listen to lawyers for CEI and the National Review accuse Dr. Mann of conducting fraudulent research while he\u00a0was sitting right there. I squirmed in my seat more than once and quietly shook my head at their presentations. It was clear that the lawyers didn\u2019t understand the scientific research they were discussing. I felt like I had stepped way, way down a\u00a0rabbit hole.<\/em><em>After the hearing concluded, one of the lawyers for the defendants\u00a0walked up to Dr. Mann outside the court room and asked to shake his hand. He was aghast when Dr. Mann politely declined \u2013 as if the lawyer was the one who just had his honor and integrity insulted.<\/em><em>From the lawyers\u2019 perspective, perhaps this was just another day at the office. But for Dr. Mann it was an affront to his character, ethics and work as a scientist.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Sul versante scientifico invece, Hermano Tobia scrive a Giancarlo:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Approfitto per una domanda: se tu li consideri comunque dei banditi, utilizzando lo stesso metro di giudizio, come consideri questi comportamenti nell\u2019ambito di temi spesso discussi su questo blog:<\/li>\n<li>a) la previsione allarmistica di scioglimento dei ghiacciai himalayani entro il 2035 (1)<\/li>\n<li>b) l\u2019invenzione di \u201cone theory per week\u201d (se ne contano circa 40 mi sembra, i fuffisti sono dei dilettanti al confronto) per cercare maldestramente di salvare modelli previsionali traballanti (2)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(1) \u00e8 l&#8217;esilarante non sequitur nel vol. 2 del IV, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipcc.ch\/publications_and_data\/ar4\/wg2\/en\/ch10s10-6-2.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">capitolo Asia<\/a>, del rapporto IPCC:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Glaciers in the Himalaya are receding faster than in any other part of the world (see Table 10.9) and, if the present rate continues, the likelihood of them disappearing by the year 2035 and perhaps sooner is very high if the Earth keeps warming at the current rate.\u00a0<\/em><em>Its\u00a0total area will likely shrink from the present 500,000 to\u00a0100,000 km2\u00a0by the year 2035 (WWF, 2005).<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>La superficie dei ghiacciai himalayani essendo di\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipcc.ch\/publications_and_data\/ar4\/wg2\/en\/ch10s10-6-2.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>3 milioni di ettari, <\/strong><\/a>la<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>probabilit\u00e0 che triplicasse entro il 2035 era sicuramente allarmistica. In realt\u00e0, la seconda frase era riportata nel vol. 1<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>La glaciazione extrapolare\u00a0<strong>terrestre<\/strong>\u00a0si degrader\u00e0 a tassi veloci e\u00a0catastrofici, la sua superficie totale si ritirer\u00e0 molto probabilmente da\u00a0500.000 a 100.000 km\u00b2 entro il\u00a0<\/em><strong>2350.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gli autori del rapporto hanno corretto gli errori e si sono scusati, cosa che Hermano Tobia non far\u00e0 mai.<br \/>\nOppure un giorno legger\u00e0<br \/>\n(2) il <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nature.com\/srep\/2014\/140422\/srep04741\/full\/srep04741.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paper<\/a>\u00a0 <\/strong>sulla temperatura dell&#8217;Atlantico, \u00a0ammetter\u00e0 che non si tratta di una nuova &#8220;teoria&#8221;, bens\u00ec \u00a0della conferma con nuovi dati di quella di Fourier (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/thorieanalytiqu00fourgoog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1822<\/a><\/strong>), che su questo punto i modelli <a href=\"http:\/\/www.realclimate.org\/index.php\/archives\/2013\/02\/2012-updates-to-model-observation-comparions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>non traballano<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>e\u00a0smetter\u00e0 di diffamare scienziati onesti?<br \/>\nSenza volerlo Hermano Tobia ha scelto proprio un esempio che lo smentisce. Su\u00a0<em>Science<\/em> \u00e8 appena uscita una <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencemag.org\/content\/345\/6201\/1177\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ricerca di paleoclimatologia <\/a><\/strong>che conferma il ruolo dell&#8217;Atlantico nei cambiamenti climatici accelerati, previsto dal modello proposto su <em>Nature<\/em> la settimana prima.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">***<\/p>\n<p>Accid&#8230; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/25138269http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/25138269\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Why did the proton cross the road?<\/a> non \u00e8 in open access.
