FermiGas) e segnalo arretrati e novit\u00e0.<\/p>\n<p>Via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.the-scientist.com\/\/?articles.view\/articleNo\/41943\/title\/Missing-Mouse-Mojo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Scientist<\/em><\/a>, la ricerca di Vanessa Melin et al. su <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0890623814001920\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reproductive Toxicology<\/a><\/em><\/strong> risolve un mistero identificato da Patricia Hunt nel 2008. I suoi topi erano diventati sterili: &#8220;le femmine stavano bene, i maschi erano interessati, ma non c&#8217;erano gravidanze&#8221;. L&#8217;unica differenza rispetto alle gabbie di altri lab erano residui di un disinfettante all&#8217;ammoniaca, ma non riusciva a eliminarli dalle gabbie del gruppo di controllo per poter fare un test di tossicit\u00e0.<\/p>\n<p>Quattro anni dopo, nel lab di Terry Hrubec, le rare topoline rimaste gravide abortivano o partorivano piccoli con gravi difetti. Succedeva anche in altri lab, ma Hrubec studiava proprio lo sviluppo fetale e voleva trovare una soluzione.<\/p>\n<p>Hanno scoperto che i problemi erano causati da due <a href=\"http:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sale_di_ammonio_quaternario\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sali <\/a>di ammonio quaternario, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Benzalkonium_chloride\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ADBAC<\/a> e <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Didecyldimethylammonium_chloride\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DDAC<\/a>, (al che hanno buttato via le gabbie, cambiato disinfettante, e adesso hanno generazioni sanissime). Sono composti diffusi da una decina d&#8217;anni anche in detersivi, ammorbidenti e conservanti per il trucco. Finora nessuno ne ha studiato gli effetti sulla riproduzione umana n\u00e9 sar\u00e0 facile farlo, per la difficolt\u00e0 di trovare un gruppo di controllo che non li abbia mai usati.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">*<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bio-inchiostri<\/strong><br \/>\nDa un po&#8217; si cerca di usare le stampanti 3-D per creare organi da trapiantare, ma senza trovare &#8220;l&#8217;inchiostro&#8221; giusto che tenga insieme le cellule senza danneggiarle, sia fluido a temperatura ambiente e non provochi un rigetto.<\/p>\n<p>Su <em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1002\/anie.201411383\/abstract;jsessionid=36FE34DEDD8009957CA3110E4770835D.f04t01\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Angewandte Chemie<\/a><\/strong>,<\/em> ricercatori dell&#8217;universit\u00e0 Tsinghua (Pechino) e Heriot-Watt (Edimburgo) coordinati da Rory Duncan, hanno fatto due gel, uno con un peptide e l&#8217;altro con DNA sintetico diluiti in acqua, che gelificano solo quando sono mischiati durante la stampa e dalla flessibilit\u00e0 controllabile con il dosaggio. In fact, though the report is couched in language more nuanced than what I myself would prefer, there is really nothing in it that is inconsistent with my earlier appraisals.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Even the terminology used in the report signals a palpable change in the framing of the discussion. The actions discussed for the most part are referred to as \u201cclimate intervention,\u201d rather than \u201cclimate engineering\u201d (or the common but confusing term geoengineering). Engineering is something you do to a system you understand very well, where you can try out new techniques thoroughly at a small scale before staking peoples\u2019 lives on them.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thenation.com\/article\/197353\/why-geoengineering-untested-and-untestable#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hacking the climate<\/a>\u00a0is different\u2014we have only one planet to live on, and can\u2019t afford any big mistakes.
