Such services involve high-quality data from national and international databases on temperature, rainfall, wind, soil moisture and ocean conditions, as well as maps, risk and vulnerability analyses, assessments, and long-term projections and scenarios. Depending on the user\u2019s needs, these data and information products may be combined with non-meteorological data, such as agricultural production, health trends, population distributions in high-risk areas, road and infrastructure maps for the delivery of goods, and other socio-economic variables.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Per ora i riassunti quotidiani <\/a>del congresso parlano soprattutto di finanziamenti per il triennio 2016-2019 \u00a0e accennano solo ogni tanto alla “gestione dei dati climatici”, migliorata nel caso della climatologia marina – forse perch\u00e9 i dati sono quelli delle boe Argo<\/a> <\/strong>statunitensi.<\/p>\n

Per molti paesi, i dati meteo non sono accessibili. Per quelli poveri si capisce… Ma dal 1998 la Commissione Europea finanzia lo European Climate Assessment & Dataset <\/a>(ECA&D)<\/p>\n

Today, ECA&D is receiving data from\u00a066 participants<\/a>\u00a0for\u00a062 countries<\/a>\u00a0and the ECA dataset contains 41,400 series of observations for\u00a012 elements<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a010,350 meteorological stations<\/a> throughout Europe and the Mediterranean…. 77% of these daily series can be downloaded from this website for non-commercial research and education.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

I puntini rossi sono le stazioni di rilevamento accessibili all’ECA&D ma solo per le mappe come quella sopra, a causa di “norme e leggi nazionali” a tutela di interessi commerciali e\/o militari.<\/p>\n

Scrive Victor Venema<\/a>, dell’univ. di Bonn<\/a>:<\/p>\n

To reduce the influence of measurement errors and non-climatic changes (inhomogeneities<\/a>) on our (trend) assessments we need dense networks.\u00a0These errors are detected and corrected by comparing one station to its neighbours.<\/a>\u00a0The closer the neighbours are, the more accurate we can assess the real climatic changes. This is especially important when it comes to changes in severe and extreme weather, where the removal of non-climatic changes is very challenging. <\/em>(…)<\/p>\n

A proposito di correzione e omogeneizzazione dei dati climatici, conviene avvisare Carlo Rubbia: il grafico dell’allevatore australiano di bovine da latte secondo il quale dal 2000 la temperatura globale cala \u00e8 stato di nuovo smentito.<\/p>\n

Su Science Express<\/em> Karl et al.<\/a> hanno sistemato le temperature della serie NOAA – in particolare quelle marine dell’inizio del secolo scorso – e dello “iato” o ” pausa” o “rallentamento” del riscaldamento globale \u00e8 rimasta solo la variabilit\u00e0 interannuale, e la tendenza \u00e8 un po’ meno marcata di prima. Spiegazione di Gavin Schmidt<\/a> – che fa anche un paragone con le proiezioni dei modelli – e brontolii dei globalcoolisti.<\/p>\n\n\n
