Physicians for Human Rights pubblica questo appello ai presidenti degli Stati Uniti e dell’Afghanistan:<\/p>\n

Our colleagues at Doctors without Borders (MSF) were providing lifesaving care in Kunduz, Afghanistan when U.S. forces bombed their hospital, killing 22 health professionals and patients and wounding 37. Thirty-three people are still missing. The hospital had repeatedly sent the U.S. military and other groups fighting in the region the exact coordinates of the hospital\u2019s location, but the bombing continued for 30 minutes after hospital workers first informed Kabul and Washington that the hospital had been struck.<\/em>
\nThe U.S. government has changed its story on the reasoning for this attack multiple times, most recently acknowledging that they had not followed their own rules of engagement. By conceding this, the U.S. military is effectively admitting that they committed a war crime.<\/em>
\nThe medical workers and patients killed in this attack must not be forgotten. While investigative measures taken by parties implicated in the attack are welcomed, they are not enough; an independent, international inquiry must be conducted by an impartial body. Call on the governments of Afghanistan and the U.S. to consent to an international humanitarian fact-finding commission and to work toward accountability now.<\/em>

Paolo Macchiarini ha scritto un articolo<\/a><\/strong> per Retraction Watch che, a suo avviso, ha fatto male a pubblicare le cartelle cliniche dei suoi pazienti al Karolinska, anche se “anonimizzate”, perch\u00e9 erano solo tre persone e quindi riconoscibili. Ha ragione: i pazienti erano riconoscibili da medici curanti, dai famigliari e da alcuni giornalisti svedesi che ne hanno rivelato l’identit\u00e0. Ritiene anche che fino alla fine di un’indagine per misconduct, non sia corretto pubblicarne dei pezzi.<\/p>\n

Per\u00f2 mi sembra che sia impossibile impedire agli autori delle accuse di renderle pubbliche, Retraction W lo ha fatto solo dopo che erano uscite sul New York Times<\/em>.<\/p>\n
