Da un secolo e mezzo, i creazionisti di varia tendenza ripetono che l’evoluzione per selezione naturale non \u00e8 mai stata confermata da osservazioni o da esperimenti. Mentono da bravi cristiani. Dal 1991<\/a> il gruppo di Michael Lenski racconta un esperimento con 12 popolazioni di Escherichia coli<\/em>. Nella puntata che esce oggi<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong> su Nature<\/em>, sono giunte alla 60.000ma<\/strong> generazione – il sito del lab<\/span> <\/a>va aggiornato! – e il loro genoma \u00e8 stato sequenziato di fino a intervalli di 500.

Le previsioni della teoria sono confermate, come al solito. La novit\u00e0 \u00e8 che perfino in un ambiente stabile, la dinamica dell’adattamento alla contingenza storica (in parole povere: su quali mutazioni casuali la selezione agisce per adattare una popolazione al contesto dell’esperimento) \u00e8 complicatissima.
\nNoi si resta in trepidante attesa della “critica scientifica<\/a>” che il duo Pennetta-Masiero e altri credenti nel Progetto Intelligente preparano dal 1991. Finora \u00e8 ridotta alla domanda di un loro portavoce:<\/p>\n

As a global business, shipping must be tackled by global regulations, and not through a patchwork of voluntary efforts and regional laws. It is true that some regional efforts, such as the European Union\u2019s scheme to monitor, report and verify CO2\u00a0emissions from large ships using its ports, might be a step towards global regulations.<\/p>\n

Why highlight such papers? Because we are glad to have published them. And because it\u2019s perhaps salutary to appreciate just how unrelated scientific interest (at least, as we at\u00a0Nature\u00a0<\/i>see it) and citation numbers can be.<\/p>\n

Il ragionamento sar\u00e0 pro domo sua<\/em> per\u00f2 dovrebbe far riflettere anche i cronisti. Toutes proportions gard\u00e9es, oggi con Filippo prepariamo la scaletta delle Oche con in fondo i paper da segnalare fra quelli usciti durante la settimana. Qual \u00e8 il loro interesse scientifico secondo noi e come farlo condividere agli ascoltatori?<\/p>\n
