The website Severe Weather Europe\u00a0warned early Thursday<\/a>\u00a0that 48-hour rainfall amounts of 200-400 mm (8 \u2013 16\u201d) were possible in parts of central and northern Greece.<\/p>\n

Non sapevo come si forma un uragano mediterraneo (Mediterranean hurricane, abbreviato in “medicane”) e la differenza con gli uragani oceanici. La stagione va da settembre a marzo, nonostante la temperatura alla superficie del mare sia bassa (attualmente 20 \u00b0C):<\/p>\n

Since the waters of the Mediterranean aren\u2019t warm enough to support conventional hurricane development, medicanes rely on colder air aloft, typically brought in as part of an upper-level low that decays over the Mediterranean. Wind shear relaxes as the upper low decays, and the contrast between the cold air aloft and the relatively warm sea surface temperatures can stimulate the formation of showers and thunderstorms. These, in turn, may congeal around a weak surface low and help give it a symmetric, warm-core structure–and sometimes even a cloud-free, eye-like feature. Often a medicane\u2019s warm core will be enveloped within broader cold-core features, which makes it more akin to a hybrid or subtropical storm than a tropical storm.<\/p>\n

We estimate human-induced warming over 1951\u20132010 to be +0.63\u00b10.08\u00b0C (105% of the total warming) in HadCRUT4, in line with the 2013 IPCC assessment (given to 1 decimal place) of +0.7\u00b10.1 \u00b0C based on more comprehensive attribution studies using the CMIP5 ensemble. The contributions to the uncertainty ranges (5\u201395% interval) for the current level of warming are ?0.06 to +0.07 \u00b0C (observational), ?0.07 to +0.19 \u00b0C (climate forcing), ?0.002 to +0.009 \u00b0C (response model), and ?0.09 to +0.12 \u00b0C (internal variability)<\/span><\/p>\n

The central estimate of current anthropogenic warming (+1.01 \u00b0C as of May 2017) is well below the monthly peak warming of +1.35 \u00b0C in Feb and Mar 2016 and well above the colder pre-2013 period. The rate of human-induced warming may actually be accelerating over the past 20 years and is currently at +0.16 \u00b0C\/decade based on the 1997\u20132016 period.<\/p>\n

Stefano Caserini diceva stamattina in onda che c’\u00e8 una ventina impianti-pilota e sembrava meno pessimista di alcuni mesi fa.

\nIl processo consuma energia, e non c’\u00e8 un gran “consenso” sulla velocit\u00e0 con la quale i prezzi degli impianti scenderanno e\/o si creer\u00e0 un mercato per la CO2 catturata, o i derivati, che compensi in parte la spesa.
\nSuccede il contrario<\/span><\/a><\/span> per le auto ibride ed elettriche “pure”, anche se in percentuale sono ancora pochissime. I dati<\/span><\/a><\/span> confermano che la domanda<\/span><\/a><\/span> supera ancora l’offerta, il prezzo cala mentre ne aumenta l’efficienza e dalla culla alla tomba emettono meno<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0gas serra di quelle a diesel e benzina – salvo le Tesla<\/span><\/a><\/span>.
