Nell’ineffabile versione di Andrea, Kiminori Itoh dice che il riscaldamento globale “è il peggior scandalo scientifico della storia”. Parole non sue, titolo dell’editore, originale pronunciato nel 2003 dal senatore Inhofe: “global warming is the worst scientific hoax of history”. Ripetuto dallo stesso con “scandal” al posto di “hoax” in Skeptic’s Guide 2006.
Tutto felice d’essere citato, il senatore ha incluso Itoh fra i 650 presunti “firmatari” del suo famigerato rapporto (in fondo a p. 3). Il mese dopo, su un sito che corregge simili strafalcioni, è comparso questo:
As it appears, Dr. Itoh’s statement in the 2008 U.S. Senate Minority Report outlining the 650 global warming dissenters within the scientific community, was not exactly his. The statement is an amalgamation of the title of the preface (“The Worst Scientific Scandal In History”) to his book and a statement given by Dr. Syun-Ichi Akasofu (“When people know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists”).
La frase di Akasofu si trova in questo articolo di Eos, trovato da Maurizio. Rivolgendosi ai colleghi, Akasofu li invita a combattere con maggior vigore le bufale, se no “quando la gente saprà la verità, si sentirà ingannata dalla scienza e dagli scienziati.”
Spero che i colleghi gli dian retta e caccino loro le bufale di Andrea.
