Pamela Fleming segnala uno sviluppo della querela intentata in un tribunale di Miami dall’antisemita rabbioso Ruggero Santilli contro Pepijn van Erp e il suo “complice” Frank Israel, prof. di astronomia all’università di Leida. Il matematico olandese aveva osato mettere in dubbio che un telescopio per astrofili con le lenti montate al rovescio potesse osservare filamenti di antimateria sopra le rive della Florida, come sostiene il genio di Capracotta.

Da Volokh Conspiracy, un prof di diritto statunitense riporta l’archiviazione deliberata dalla giudice Virginia Covington, del tribunale di Miami. In breve: per privare van Erp e Israel del diritto di parola garantito dal Primo emendamento, i “Plaintiffs” – cioè Santilli e la moglie – dovevano portare argomenti più seri.

Sul più diffamatorio e antisemita dei suoi blog, fra millanterie e piagnistei Santilli fornisce alcune informazioni utili per capire il contesto:

On March 16, 2018, the plaintiff’s attorney Joseph Parrish filed a Motion for Temporary Injunction merely requesting the removal of the name “Santilli” in the URL of defaming websites on grounds that such a removal would not damage them. Besides waste [sic] documentation, the Motion also presented the sworn testimony by Scott Tadsen on the financial losses caused by Frank Israel and Pepijn van Erp to thousands of stockholder of the Nasdaq public-traded company, please see the sworn testimony by Scott Wainwright on the impossibility of funding under said barrage of slander… 

Sia Tadsen che Wainwright giurano che “The Continuing Stupidity of Ruggero Santilli” è il primo link che salti fuori con Google dopo la voce di Wikipedia e il cv di Santilli (se fosse vero, l’avrebbero documentato con uno screenshot) e che non è possibile stimare le perdite fatte subire da quel post.

On May 4, 2018, the plaintiff’s attorney Joseph Parrish filed a very strong Objection against Magistrate Pizzo Recommendations. presenting a quite scholar distinction between the legitimate use of the First Amendment and the damage caused by its abuses to individual U. S. citizens as well as to America.

Auguri. La ditta non è quotata in una borsa europea e la magistratura olandese rischia di non gradire le sue tirate antisemite contro Frank Israel – che non ha mai scritto alcunché sulle santillate, ma come van Erp fa parte del direttivo di Skepsis, il Cicap locale.

I post di van Erp meritano. Si apprende per esempio che nei Paesi Bassi diventano “cavalieri” i ciarlatani che “curano” con l’omeopatia malati di Aids africani, e che le norme FAO sono meno tolleranti verso i ciarlatani delle norme UE.
